Prepare For The Storm
In just 7 months, we've turned into a failed democracy and are well on our way to fascism and an autocracy if we don't push back and fight. They flooded the zone with so much crap that it's hard to figure out where to start. The answer is to divide and conquer. March, resist, and become ungovernable.
Resistance, Rebellion, and Death
Last year, a former co-worker suggested a book that I've been on and off again reading. It's Resistance, Rebellion, and Death by Albert Camus. Camus was a French philosopher who wrote "Letters to a German Friend" during the French Resistance in World War II.
I read those Letters and immediately saw the parallels when France was overrun by Fascists to what's happen right here and now.

MAGA is just like Camus's Nazi German friend, always mixing up patriotism with nazism. MAGA believes only they can wave the American flag, only they are patriots. You know what? Every citizen of color, sexual orientation, lover of our freedoms - no matter how messy they are- is a patriot. Don't let these assholes take away our flag and our patriotism.

Speak Truth to Power

Elections Have Consequences
I'm not sure if we'll have fair and free elections in the future, but we all need to get out and vote. The graphic below illustrates the importance of voting. The only time in recent history when more people voted than didn't was for Biden. Since then, it's business as usual. Look at what complacency has wrought us: the end of our democracy.
Sanders-Omar Bill Would Repeal Big Oil 'Welfare' in Trump Budget Law
I support this, but I doubt this bill will pass. We've been giving Big Oil so much money to kill our planet while we simultaneously kick people off Medicare. I used to think the system could be reformed, but I think it needs to be burned down.
An Entire Country Has to Be Evacuated Because of Climate Change
This will only accelerate in our lifetimes. We're going to see the migration of millions, if not billions of people, as they flee low-lying areas to higher ground. Guess what will be waiting for them? Nationalism and "my country is for my people, not these dirty climate refugees."

It's a sobering reminder of the incredibly damaging effects that global warming is having on our planet. Tuvalu is only 6.5 feet above sea level on average, meaning that rising tides will almost certainly be devastating to the region. Fierce storms, facilitated by rising temperatures, could make matters even worse for an already very vulnerable population.
